We started out selling hats & scarves from a roadside kiosk in the heart of Harajuku, Japan. It was 1983 and our founder Mr. Kawakami (originally from Osaka) sought great(er) opportunity in megalopolis Tokyo. Since then we have grown little by little to serve the articulate Japanese market.

With 17 years knowledge in making hats, a tiny office space was acquired in the Fashion District of Los Angeles, California, to explore US market in the centennial year of 2000. It was due to now president, Hitoshi Masaki that the US office was established. He had always dreamed of coming to the US, to pursue his acting career. Our founder Mr. Kawakami who believed strongly in Hitoshi Masaki’s passion and spirit, gave him a shot at the US market and opened the official US branch.In 2001, we established a deal to represent another company, MAD FACTORY INC and license their headwear in US market.

Our vision – to bring the best of Japanese headwear (and urban essences of Japan) to the US.
